Kadyrov says 3 Chechen militants arrested in Turkey, requests their extradition to Russia
GROZNY. Nov 5 (Interfax) - Three terrorists, who operated in the Chechen Republic, were arrested in Turkey, the Chechnya head Ramzan Kadyrov said.
"Makhran Saidov, Alsanbek Vadalov and Tarkhan Gaziyev were arrested. These names are notorious in Russia and all over the world. They are leaders of terrorists, who operated in Chechnya," Kadyrov said in a request addressed to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Kadyrov said he expects that "the Russian Prosecutor General's Office will send the required documents to extradite terrorists," and requests Erdogan to extradite them to Russia.
"I would like to respectfully request you to resolve the issue of extradition of the criminals in a positive manner," Kadyrov said.
He said that "there is reliable information" that each one of three arrested individuals "organized and committed numerous terror attacks, killings of troops, policemen and civilians."
"Vadalov killed ten policemen in Ishkhoy-Yurt, killed three residents and committed arson of houses in the village of Benoy-Vedeno. Gaziyev killed Khumid Vismatov, aged 82, in the village of Bugaroy. He kidnapped [former] Russian Deputy Prime Minister Valentin Vlasov in collusion with Arbi Barayev, killed one and injured four Interior Ministry officials in the village of Glukhoe and killed seven policemen in the village of Alzakhurovo as part of a gang. Saidov is involved in killings of over 20 people and other grave crimes," Kadyrov said.
The Chechnya head said that extradition of Saidov, Vadalov and Gaziyev from Turkey to Russia would be "of great importance for bringing terrorists to justice and holding them responsible under the law."
"It is also of particular importance for Turkey, because it is impossible to think of stability, when terrorists of worldwide notoriety remain in the country. May Allah help you in righteous deeds in the name of the Turkish people and accord between Russia and Turkey," he said.
The request was posted on Kadyrov's official website on Saturday.
