Kremlin denies possibility of Russia's involvement in any illegal actions in Montenegro
MOSCOW. Nov 7 (Interfax) - Russia has taken no part in any illegal actions regarding Montenegro, the Kremlin said.
"We categorically deny the possibility of official involvement in any attempt to organize illegal actions of any sort," Kremlin press secretary Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Monday.
As to whether the Montenegrin authorities have filed formal requests with Russia for investigating the possible attempt on the life of the Montenegrin prime minister, Peskov said, "No formal requests have been filed. I do not know if any requests have been lodged with the security services."
Montenegrin Chief Special Prosecutor Milivoje Katnic told a press conference on Sunday there was no proof of Russia's involvement in the attempted terror attack on the day of the October 16 parliamentary elections.
Twenty citizens of Serbia were arrested in Montenegro on October 16 on suspicion of plotting terror attacks.
