Mironov views rightful Moscow's mirror response to admitting no Russian diplomats to monitor U.S. election

MOSCOW. Nov 8 (Interfax) - Leader of State Duma's A Just Russia faction Sergei Mironov supports limited access for the U.S. diplomats to the polling stations in Russia.

Russia will allow no American diplomats to monitor the election in Russia in response to the U.S. authorities' limited access for Russian representatives to monitor the presidential election in the U.S., the Russian Foreign Ministry said earlier.

"This is rightful, the point is that it is always needed to act in the mirror fashion here - if they do not admit us, they have nothing to do here at our election. This is normal. Why we should admit them to us, if they do not admit us to them," Mironov told journalists on Tuesday.

The U.S. very much likes to teach democracy other countries and see "a speck in your friend's eye," he said.

He recalled that there had been "rude violations" in the vote recount at the presidential election in the U.S. Besides, already now several dozens of millions of electors have taken part in the early voting at the American election, that is "nonsense", Mironov said.

"There is nothing surprising here, that they do not admit us, think that they are the top of democracy, and they have everything better than the others have," he said.

Mironov also said that he saw nothing new in this behavior by the U.S. side, when they "admit no Russian diplomats so ostentatiously."
