Kazakh, Kyrgyz police prevent shipment of nearly 15kg of heroin to Moscow
TARAZ. Nov 10 (Interfax) - A drug mule carrying a large batch of heroin was detained in the village of Kordai in Kazakhstan's Zhambyl region, the regional police department said.
"Officers of the drug control division from the Zhambyl regional police department and the Kazakh Interior Ministry's drug control department jointly with colleagues from neighboring Kyrgyzstan have prevented a large shipment of a heavy drug, 14,730 grams of heroin, to the Russian capital city of Moscow," it said.
Fifteen briquettes of heroin were found in the car of a 52-year-old resident of the village of Sortobe, the police said.
"The briquettes carried imprints depicting a horse and Arabic letters," the department said.
The car owner pleaded guilty and was put in a detention center. A preliminary inquiry is in progress.
