Shells fired by militants in Aleppo district contain forbidden toxic substances - Russian forces' research center
ALEPPO (Syria). Nov 11 (Interfax) - Militants fired shells containing forbidden toxic substances on the 1070 district in Aleppo, killing two people and injuring dozens, and experts of the research center of the Russian Armed Forces' radiation, chemical and biological protection forces have confirmed the presence of chemicals in the munitions with an express test.
"An express test of samples proved the use of munitions containing toxic chemicals, chlorine and white phosphorous," a specialist from the center, which had deployed a mobile lab in Aleppo, said.
The substances discovered in the test were outlawed by an international convention dated January 13, 1993.
