Kazakh retail trade up 0.6% in Jan-Oct

ALMATY. Nov 15 (Interfax) - Kazakh retail trade volume edged up 0.6% year-on-year in January-October 2016 to 6.072 trillion tenge, the Statistics Committee of the National Economy Ministry said.

The current FOREX rate is 340.63 tenge / $1.

In the reporting period trade enterprises increased sales by 3.6% year-on-year. The volume of trade by individual sellers decreased by 2.7%.

The total stock of trade organizations stood at 384.1 billion tenge as of November 1, 2016, which is enough to last for 56 trading days.

Food products accounted for 35.8% of all trading volume in January-October 2016, non-food products - 64.2%. Retail sales of foodstuffs grew by 7.1% year-on-year and retail sales of non-food products decreased by 2.2%.
