Rosneft not commenting on reports about Ulyukayev's detention in company's office
MOSCOW. Nov 15 (Interfax) - The Rosneft press service is not commenting the reports that Economic Development Minister Alexei Ulyukayev was detained at the oil company's office.
"No comments," the Rosneft press service told Interfax on Tuesday.
Ulyukayev's lawyer Timofei Gridnev earlier said that Ulyukayev had been detained at the oil company's office.
"Alexei Valentinovich has not admitted his guilt. He thinks that what happened at the Rosneft [MOEX: ROSN] office yesterday is a provocation against a state official," Gridnev said in an interview with the Business FM station.
The Russian Investigative Committee said in the early hours of Tuesday that a criminal case had been opened against Ulyukayev, who is charged with extortion and accepting a bribe of $2 million. He has been brought before a court for a bail hearing. An investigator's petition for the minister's house arrest will be considered shortly.
