NATO-Georgia exercise proves country's course towards Euro-Atlantic integration, Tbilisi says
TBILISI. Nov 15 (Interfax) - Georgia's cooperation with NATO aims to strengthen peace and stability in the region, the Georgian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Tuesday.
"The NATO-Georgia 2016 exercise taking place in Georgia provides yet more proof of our country's indestructible course towards Euro-Atlantic integration," the ministry said in the statement.
Besides Georgia, the exercise involves 250 troops from 13 NATO member and partner countries, according to the document. "Such events help increase compatibility between NATO forces and Georgian armed forces, which enables us to make a bigger contribution in strengthening international security," the ministry said.
The Russian Foreign Ministry issued a statement earlier saying that this year's third NATO-Georgia military exercise poses a serious threat to regional stability.
