Inalca may help build meat factory in Kazakhstan's Almaty region
ASTANA. Nov 17 (Interfax) - Kazakh Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture Askar Myrzakhmetov met with representatives of the Italian company Inalca Eurasia to discuss their participation in a project for the construction of a large meat factory in the Almaty region, the Ministry of Agriculture said in a press release.
The factory will include feed lots for 10,000 to 20,000 head of cattle, meat processing shops and distribution centers, according to the press release.
In January 2016 Inalca Eurasia, part of Italy's Cremonini group, signed a memorandum of cooperation with Aktep, an agricultural producer in the Aktobe region. The sides agreed to set up a joint company to build feed lots for 44,000 head of cattle in the Aktobe, Kostanai and West Kazakhstan regions and to upgrade the meat processing plant in the Aktobe region. It was reported that Inalca Eurasia had made a decision to invest over 100 million euros in the project.
