Private instructors from U.S. can work in Chechnya in intl special forces training center - Kadyrov
GROZNY. Nov 23 (Interfax) - Private instructors from the U.S. may be employed by the international special forces training center that is being created in Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, the head of the republic, said.
"There are plans to involve up to 200 instructors at the initial stage. They are the best specialists in the world," he said in an interview with Interfax on Wednesday.
Kadyrov said, citing his aide Daniil Martynov, the head of the center, which is now being created, that some ten job applications have been received from private American instructors.
"These are people with a name. We will see," Kadyrov said.
"One cannot deny the fact that there are really cool guys in the U.S. who have a lot of experience with public and non-public special operations in Latin America, Asia and Africa," Kadyrov said.
"Speaking about current U.S. special forces, I don't quite understand what these guys can train Russian troops in. Our team took first place in the world championship in Jordan, and the Americans were somewhere after the first twenty," he said.
"Official U.S. defense and security structures fall under sanctions here in Chechnya," Kadyrov said.
The creation of an international training center for special operations forces is expected to be completed in Gudermes in 2018. The center will have its own runway, a parachute facility and facilities for polishing the skills of fighting terrorists in city conditions.
"It's a gigantic city, which has no analogues. It is located in an area of over 400 hectares. Some 40 training facilities are being built simultaneously. Among them is a runway and 14 shooting rooms, where the skills of shooting firearms, domestic and foreign, will be polished," Kadyrov said.
Specifically, the center will have an aerodynamic tunnel, a firing range for demolition training, and a parachute facility, he said.
"A whole city where special task forces will be trained to detect potential terrorist threats, free hostages and neutralize terrorists presents special interest," Kadyrov said.
