Dead body of man and automatic weapon found in southwestern Moscow

MOSCOW. Nov 24 (Interfax) - A man was shot dead in the southwest of Moscow, presumably with an automatic weapon that was found near the scene of the crime, spokesperson for the Russian Investigative Committee's Moscow branch Yulia Ivanova said.

"The dead body of a man with a gunshot wound was found in the territory near houses on Litovsky Boulevard," she told Interfax on Thursday.

An automatic weapon that was presumably used to kill the man was spotted 300 meters from the scene, she said.

A criminal investigation was launched into this incident on counts of 'murder' and 'illegal possession of weapons', she said.

"The identity of the victim is being established," the spokesperson said.
