Minsk has no official confirmation so far of 'Normandy Four' foreign ministers' meeting

MINSK. Nov 24 (Interfax) - The Belarusian Foreign Ministry has not so far received official confirmation that a 'Normandy Four' ministerial meeting may be held in Minsk.

"Everything depends on the sides' decision. As soon as and if they make it, we will do all that is needed to hold such a meeting," Belarusian Foreign Ministry spokesman Dmitry Mironchik said at a press briefing in Minsk on Thursday.

Ensuring the possibility of holding talks on the settlement of the situation in Ukraine in Minsk is one of the Belarusian side's priorities, Mironchik said.

"That is why we are always in a state of high alert," he said, adding that the Belarusian side would need less than 24 hours to prepare the talks in Minsk.

It was reported earlier, with reference to German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier, that the next ministerial meeting in the 'Normandy Format' may be held in Minsk on November 29.
