Crimea invites Turkey to resume direct air travel, maritime traffic
MOSCOW. Nov 24 (Interfax) - Authorities of Crimea invited Turkey to resume direct air travel with the peninsula and ferry traffic via the Yevpatoria-Zonguldak route.
"It would be essential and rather important for our communication with the Republic of Turkey to resume direct air traffic, which existed at the time; there was a Simferopol-Istanbul flight. Ferry traffic between Crimea's city of Yevpatoria and Zonguldak also traditionally existed," Crimea's Industrial Policy Minister Andrei Vasyuta said at a meeting with the Turkish delegation in Simferopol on Thursday.
The delegation comprised several Turkish parliamentarians and over 20 businessmen arrived in Crimea for a few days' visit on Wednesday evening.
