China, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan to host some competitions of 2017 Intl Army Games - Shoigu
MOSCOW. Nov 24 (Interfax) - Some competitions as part of the 2017 International Army Games are expected to be held in the territory of China, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan, Russian Defense Minister Gen. of the Army Sergei Shoigu said.
The International Army Games have become a modern form of combat training, he said at a conference of the All-Russia Public Organization of Veterans of the Russian Armed Forces on Thursday.
"More than 100 teams from 19 foreign states participated in them this year. Russian servicemen won first place among the teams for the second consecutive year," he said.
Vigorous preparations are currently underway for the third International Army Games, he said.
"A number of competitions are expected to be held in the territory of China, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan," the minister said.
