Russia plans to create new design bureaus to promote innovations in space sphere - Rogozin
MOSCOW. Nov 28 (Interfax) - New experimental design bureaus and laboratories will be created in the Russian rocket and space industry to promote innovative projects, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin told reporters on Monday.
"We will be intensifying the work to create experimental design bureaus," Rogozin said.
The reform of the rocket and space industry, which began four years ago, was due to problems associated with equipment failure, he said.
"It was largely due to the low level of technologies that were used for long decades and were not modernized. And the past years of crisis processes resulted in the fact that middle-aged people left the industry and only older people stayed, there were virtually no young people," Rogozin said.
He also said enterprises worked at no more 40% of their capacity, which led to a reduction in wages and deterred young people from going to work in the rocket and space sector. Rogozin said all these factors indicated a need for radical reform.
This was impossible without drawing a new generation of specialists to the industry, he said.
