Lavrov, Kerry may meet in Rome, details being finalized - Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Ryabkov

HAVANA. Nov 30 (Interfax) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry may meet in Rome, and preparations for this meeting are under way, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said.

"I suppose this meeting will take place," Ryabkov told journalists in Havana on Wednesday.

However, some details of the meeting are still being coordinated and finalized, he added.

Lavrov is planning to travel to Rome to take part in an international conference on the Middle East, Ryabkov said. "There is confirmation that the [U.S.] secretary of state will also be there," he said.

The time and venue of a possible meeting between Lavrov and Kerry have yet to be agreed upon, he said.
