Atomenergomash receives 1.3 bln euro order for Akkuyu nuclear plant equipment

MOSCOW. Dec 1 (Interfax) - Atomenergomash, the equipment manufacturing division of the Rosatom state corporation, and the JSC Akkuyu Nuclear project company have concluded a contract on delivery of the main turbine plant equipment for the NN1-4 blocks of the Akkuyu nuclear power plant in Turkey, according to materials on Rosatom's procurement website.

The contract is worth 1.341 billion euro (zero VAT rate).

The equipment is to be delivered in August 2020 for block N1, June 2021 for N2, March 2022 for N3 and March 2023 for N4.

During the Atomexpo 2016 forum at the beginning of June, Ilya Smirnov, the head of legal issues at Akkuyu Nuclear, said that Rosatom plans to begin pouring concrete at the Akkuyu site in 2018. "Receipt of the construction license is expected in 2018; first concrete - in 2018," Smirnov said, adding that the first reactor is scheduled for 2023, and plant construction will be completed in 2026.
