Ukrainian defense minister sees no improvement in Donbas situation

WARSAW. Dec 2 (Interfax) - Ukrainian Defense Minister Stepan Poltorak stated a lack of positive progress in the security situation in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

"I see no progress. A total of 42 instances of shelling took place yesterday. I believe it is not an example of improvement of the situation in eastern Ukraine," he told reporters in Warsaw on Friday.

Poltorak said that Russia is not taking initiative to resolve the situation, but is making every effort for the road map of the Minsk Agreements implementation not to be negotiated.

"Ukraine is ready for it [implementation of the Minsk Agreements], we are working and carrying out our obligations to the fullest extent," he said.
