Lavrov decorated with Serbian order
BELGRADE. Dec 12 (Interfax) - Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic has bestowed the Order of the Serbian Banner, First Class on Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, an Interfax correspondent reported.
The award was presented "for special merits in developing and strengthening the cooperation and friendly relations between the Republic of Serbia and the Russian Federation," according to the Serbian president's decree.
The award is a recognition of the significance of the political cooperation between the two countries, Lavrov said.
"I see this as a testament to the fact that our Serbian friends attach particular importance to the political aspect of our cooperation," the minister said.
