Tkachev confirms grain export forecast at 35-40 mln tonnes

GORKI. Dec 13 (Interfax) - Agriculture Minister Alexander Tkachev has confirmed the previously announced grain export forecast in the current farm year.

"This number always floats, so to say exactly is probably not possible. It seems to me that the figure 35-40 [million tonnes] reflects the main thing: export volumes are increasing, because production volumes are growing," Tkachev told journalists on Tuesday following a meeting of the government commission on agricultural sector issues and stable development of rural areas.

The Agriculture Ministry previously forecast Russian would export 35 million-40 million tonnes of grain in the current agricultural year (July 2016-June 2017).
