Lavrov, Steinmeier discuss humanitarian aid to liberated districts in eastern Aleppo

MOSCOW. Dec 13 (Interfax) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier have discussed the situation in Aleppo.

"In the development of the a telephone conversation between Russian President Vladimir Putin and German Chancellor Angela Merkel, the ministers have exchanged opinions on the settlement process in Syria paying attention to the situation in Aleppo and the tasks of humanitarian assistance to civilians in eastern parts of the city liberated from terrorists," reads a statement published on the Russian Foreign Ministry's website on Tuesday night.

The telephone conversation took place at Germany's initiative.
