Kyiv used to extradite over 100 people per year, only 40 in past two years - Russian prosecutor general's office
MOSCOW. Dec 14 (Interfax) - Ukraine has extradited only around 40 people upon Russian requests over the past two years, Russian Deputy Prosecutor General Saak Karapetyan said.
"Speaking in figures: previously, Ukraine would arrest over 100 people upon our requests each year and extradite almost all of them to us. Over the last year and over this year, just 60 people were arrested and around 40 extradited," Karapetyan told journalists on Wednesday.
The Russian authorities hope the cooperation with Ukraine will return to the previous level, he said.
