Representatives of extremist, terrorist organizations try to get into Russia disguised as refugees - interior minister

MOSCOW. Dec 14 (Interfax) - Extremists try to get into Russia under the guise of refugees, taking advantage of the current situation in Central Asia, Russian Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev said on Wednesday.

"The aggravation of the situation in Central Asia causes an increase in migration processes and creates conditions for attempts made by representatives of international terrorist and extremist organizations to get into our country under the guise of refugees," Kolokoltsev said in the Federation Council.

A set of operative and prevention measures is being implemented on a permanent basis to ensure timely detection and neutralization of possible threats in interaction with relevant agencies, he said.

"Members and leaders of the terrorist organization Khizb ut-Tahrir al-Islami, citizens of the CIS countries, have recently been detained by Interior Ministry officials in cooperation with security agencies and Rosgvardiya in Moscow in a large-scale operation," Kolokoltsev said.
