Russian diplomat, Syrian politician discuss Syria settlement process

MOSCOW. Dec 19 (Interfax) - The Russian president's special representative for the Middle East and Africa, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov received Qadri Jamil, representative of the Syrian opposition Popular Front for Change and Liberation, on Monday.

"The parties held a comprehensive discussion of the situation in and around Syria. They emphasized the need for a swift launch of the political settlement process in Syria on the basis of the UN Security Council Resolution 2254," the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
