Putin reiterates Russia's proposal on joining efforts in fighting against intl terrorism in light of Berlin tragedy
MOSCOW. Dec 20 (Interfax) - In light of the murder of the Russian Ambassador in Ankara Andrei Karlov and the terror attack in Berlin, Russian President Vladimir Putin again called on the global community to join efforts in combating terrorism.
"We see and know what happens in other countries. It looks like another crime of this kind [was] now [committed] in Europe. Many people were killed in Berlin. Expressing our sympathy and wishing a speedy recovery to the injured, we reiterate what we have repeatedly offered and are offering now - to join the efforts in fighting against international terrorism," Putin said at a reception marking the Day of Security Service Workers on Tuesday.
"This is the only way we can win," the Russian president said.
As reported, the Russian Ambassador Andrei Karlov was killed in an attack in Ankara on Monday, December 19. Russian Foreign Ministry qualified it as a terrorist attack.
A total of 12 people were killed, 50 injured when a truck plowed into a crowd of people visiting a Christmas bazaar in Berlin in the early hours of December 20. The Berlin police qualified the crime as a terror attack.
