Naftogaz wants to resolve issue of settlements for new gas supplies with contract changes

MOSCOW. Dec 21 (Interfax) - Naftogaz Ukraine wants to resolve the issue of settlements and obligations for new supplies of gas with Gazprom before Stockholm arbitration rulings through changes in the contract, while the Russian gas giant is proposing to exchange letters to address the issue, Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak told reporters.

"Naftogaz Ukraine is worried that, for the additional money that will be paid, gas will not be supplied in accordance with the volumes and requests of Naftogaz. It believes that changes need to be made to the contract. Gazprom is proposing to Naftogaz to exchange letters that would respond to the concerns and issues that Naftogaz has, such as prepayment," Novak said.
