Tragedy with Ambassador Karlov indicates dangers of diplomatic work - Lavrov
MOSCOW. Dec 21 (Interfax) - The death of Russian Ambassador in Ankara Andrei Karlov shows that diplomatic service is dangerous, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Wednesday.
"The tragedy with our friend, Andrei Gennadyevich Karlov, once again confirms that a diplomat is always in the crosshairs, not only in the figurative sense, but also in reality," Lavrov said at the ceremony for stamping and putting into circulation stamps devoted to the history of Russian diplomatic service.
The minister also supported the initiative of the Russian Federal Communications Agency to perpetuate Karlov's memory in stamps.
