Kazakhstan, Iran intend to boost trade cooperation

ASTANA. Dec 22 (Interfax) - Kazakhstan and Iran have signed a series of documents in Astana as part of Iranian President Hassan Rouhani's official visit, an Interfax-Kazakhstan correspondent has reported.

In particular, the sides signed an agreement on cooperation in the field of merchant shipping that envisages bilateral commitments to create equal conditions in this field.

A memorandum of understanding between the National Bank of Kazakhstan and the Central Bank of Iran was signed to help organize bilateral trade that envisages financial transactions between the two countries given the need to ensure the stability of their banking systems.

The sides signed an agreement on cooperation in the field of veterinary and animal health protection that envisages bilateral commitments involving measures to prevent and control animal disease epidemics.

In addition, a memorandum between Kazakhstan's Ministry of Investment and Development and Iran's tourist authority on facilitation of group trips, a memorandum of understanding between Kazakhstan's Ministry of Health and Social Development and Iranian's Ministry for Cooperation, Labor and Social Welfare on cooperation in the field of labor and social security were signed.
