Tomsk scientists develop a security system for universities
TOMSK. Dec 26 (Interfax) - Scientists at Tomsk State University (TSU) have developed a comprehensive security system with a layered system of inspection that can be used at universities and other crowded places, the university said in a statement.
"A key part of the system is "an electronic nose" that was created by TSU scientists. The device analyzes a set of mixed gases and vapors in the atmosphere. The semiconductor sensors detect the presence of hazardous substances and differentiate them," director of Siberian Institute of Physics and Technology (a branch of TSU) Alexandra Potekaeva said.
The system outranks most analogues in the world thanks to its technical and functional features, she said.
