Putin to hold State Council session dealing with Russia's role in global environmental problems
MOSCOW. Dec 21 (Interfax) - President Vladimir Putin will hold a session of the State Council in the Kremlin on Tuesday on the ecological development of the Russian Federation in the interests of future generations, the Kremlin press service reports.
"The session will mull Russia's role and place in tackling global environmental problems, key tasks of Russia's long-term sustained ecological development such as the reduction of the risks of environmental degradation and the exhaustion of natural resources, the elimination of accumulated environmental damage, the introduction of modern clean production technologies and the reduction of harmful emissions," the press service says.
The main reports will be delivered by governor of Chelyabinsk region Boris Dubrovsky and Minister of Natural Resources and Ecology Sergei Donskoy who headed the working group for the session, the Kremlin said.
