Fragments of Tu-154 crashed in Sochi to be taken to Taganrog plant for examination - plant employee

SOCHI. Dec 28 (Interfax) - Employees of Taganrog Aircraft Maintenance Plant No 325 in the Rostov region will examine fragments of the Tupolev Tu-154 plane, which crashed near Sochi, to establish the cause of the accident, a plant representative told Interfax on Wednesday.

He said they made a similar examination after the Airbus A-320 crash in Sochi in 2006.

"Tu-154 wreckage will be taken to the Taganrog aircraft plant for examination; it is being gathered," he said.

For now, plane fragments are being amassed in hangars of the old Sochi airport, he said.

"They are receiving a special treatment, the fragments are being dried in the hangars," he said.

A plane of the Russian Defense Ministry routed for Syria crashed in the morning of December 25 shortly after the takeoff from the Adler airport. All the 92 people aboard died in the crash.
