Militants who opened fire on police officers in Dagestan ID'd - source
MAKHACHKALA. Dec 28 (Interfax) - The police are looking for four militants who have killed two police officers and wounded one police officer in Dagestan, a source in the region's law enforcement structures told Interfax.
"According to tentative information, two militants - Magomed Sultanov and Shamil Magomedov - opened fire on the police in Makhachkala in the early hours of December 25. Another two militants, Ruslan Abuyev and Abas Khubayev, also according to tentative information, helped the former two commit this crime," the source said.
The four men are on the wanted persons list, the source said.
According to earlier reports, unknown individuals opened fire on police officers on the motorway connecting Makhachkala and Kaspiysk in the early hours of December 25, as a result of which two law enforcement officials were killed and one was hospitalized with a wound.
