Ingush investigators open criminal case over murder of journalist
MAGAS. Jan 1 (Interfax) - Ingushetia's investigative bodies launched a criminal inquiry after the death of journalist, author of the sports programs Amir Kokurkhoyev in the intensive care unit of a knife wound, a representative of the Russian Investigative Committee regional investigative branch told Interfax on Sunday.
"The criminal case was opened over murder on the basis of Part 1 Article 105 of the Russian Criminal Code," he said.
The investigators have identified the suspect, the set of measures are currently being undertaken to detect his location and arrest him, he said.
"The murder is not connected to his journalist activity, it is most likely a domestic crime," he also said.
As earlier reported, well-known in Ingushetia journalist, spokesman of the Sunzha district administration died of a knife wound at the intensive care unit.
A man armed with a knife, who lived nearby in the Sunzha district, has attacked the 27-year-old journalist, when the latter was on the way back home.
