Dollar, euro slightly down at start of trading on Friday, ruble strengthening against bi-currency basket
MOSCOW. Jan 6 (Interfax) - The U.S. dollar and euro fell slightly on the Moscow Exchange at the start of trading o Friday, with a slightly stronger ruble against the bi-currency basket amid relatively high global prices on crude oil.
The dollar opened Friday's trade on Moscow Exchange at 59.25-59.37 rubles/$1, reaching 59.30 rubles/$1 by the end of the first minute (-15 kopecks below yesterday's closing). The euro was down to 62.75 rubles/EUR1 (-19 kopecks). The bi-currency basket was down to 60.85 rubles, 17 kopecks below Thursday's closing.
The dollar is 1.357 rubles below the current official exchange rate, the euro is 1.06 rubles below the rate.
