Georgian refugees detained in Germany for stealing cigarettes, alcohol
TBILISI. Jan 19 (Interfax) - The German police have detained 15 foreigners, including ten citizens of Georgia, in an extensive operation held in Dresden and Leipzig, the Georgian media said on Thursday with reference to the German Interior Ministry.
The detainees had refugee status in Germany. A search of their residences yielded large quantities of things stolen from stores and apartment buildings, such as cigarettes, alcoholic beverages, cosmetic products and baby food. In addition, 30 grams of heroin were seized from the detainees.
The media said the police also detained citizens of Vietnam and Latvia.
