Ukraine, Britain to continue cooperation in defense area - joint statement
KYIV. Jan 20 (Interfax) - Ukrainian Defense Minister Stepan Poltorak and UK Defense Secretary Michael Fallon have signed a joint statement on development of the two countries' cooperation on defense following their meeting in Kyiv.
"In their joint statement, the heads of defense ministries have demonstrated readiness to further interact in a number of areas, particularly in Ukrainian Armed Forces personnel training, to cooperate in the field of language and professional training, in activities to support reforming the defense sector," the Ukrainian Defense Ministry press service said in a release on Friday.
Poltorak and Fallon have agreed to continue the dialogue on cooperation in the defense area in a bilateral format during 2017, the press service said.
