Russian oil cos increase exploration, production drilling 11.8% in 2016
MOSCOW. Jan 24 (Interfax) - Russian oil companies drilled 914,000 meters of exploration wells in 2016, 11.8% more than in 2015, according to data from Central Dispatching Department of the Fuel and Energy Complex (CDU TEK).
Production drilling also increased 11.8%, to 24.680 million meters.
Surgutneftegas drilled 197,300 meters of exploration well, 4.4% less, and 4.500 million meters of production well, 4.0% more.
Lukoil boosted exploration drilling 8.6% to 181,500 meters. Production drilling declined 11.0% to 2.455 million meters.
Rosneft drilled 197,200 meters of exploration well last year, 80% more. It increased production drilling 40% to 9.098 million meters.
Bashneft drilled 91,600 meters of exploration well, 120% more, and 472,600 meters of production well, 8.0% more.
Rosneft purchased a controlling stake in Bashneft - 50.0755% of shares - in October. However, CDU TEK continued to publish separate figures for Bashneft through December.
Gazprom Neft reduced exploration drilling 2.3% to 27,200 meters and reduced production drilling 12% to 2.535 million meters.
