Military-Industrial Commission approves 27 projects to create general-purpose weapon systems - Rogozin

MOSCOW. Jan 26 (Interfax) - A board of chief design engineers has approved 27 projects to ensure the creation of general-purpose weapon systems and complexes, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin said.

"Last year the collegium of the Military-Industrial Commission, jointly with the Defense Ministry, the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the National Guard finished the work of forming this board. A list of 27 projects was approved, which will ensure the creation of general-purpose weapon complexes and systems. The industry's head organizations have been approved and the projects' chief design engineers appointed," Rogozin told the Russian president at the Commission's meeting on Thursday.

"[This] will ensure balanced development of general-purpose ground forces, scientific justification for decisions being made, their expert appraisal, assessment of the defense companies' technical and technological readiness, as well as military-scientific and scientific-technical support for the work to be carried out before 2025," Rogozin said.
