Over 4,300 Syrian civilians receive aid of Russian center for reconciliation in past 24 hrs
MOSCOW. Jan 28 (Interfax) - The Russian center for reconciliation of opposing sides continues work in restoration of civilian life in Syria and providing humanitarian assistance to the population of the country.
The center said that in the past 24 hours officers of the center carried out six humanitarian operations during which they have rendered assistance to over 4,300 civilians.
"Points providing hot meals and basic necessities deployed by the center continue to work in eastern quarters of Aleppo. Over 3.8 tonnes of bread and 1,500 rations of hot meals were handed over to residents of the quarters of al-Sakhour, Tariq Tal-Shabeek, al-Meridian, Khaldiyeh, Musharaqa and Sheikh Maqsoud in the city of Aleppo. A total of more than 4,400 tonnes of humanitarian cargo were delivered and handed over to residents," the center for reconciliation of opposing sides in Syria said in a statement.
The center said that Russian servicemen of the International Mine Action Center continue humanitarian demining of homes, streets and socially significant facilities in eastern Aleppo. "Over the past day alone, Russian sappers cleared 58 residential buildings and over 15 kilometers of roads. An area exceeding 70 hectares was demined," the center said.
Apart from that, medical assistance continues to be rendered to Syrian residents, the center said. Mobile teams of Russian medics gave aid to more than 130 civilians in the Aleppo Governorate.
