Russian Deputy FM Bodganov, Syrian ambassador discuss intra-Syrian negotiations in Geneva
MOSCOW. Jan 28 (Interfax) - Russian Deputy Foreign Minister and Special Presidential Envoy for the Middle East and Africa Mikhail Bogdanov and the Syrian Ambassador to Moscow Riyad Haddad discussed establishing the process of the intra-Syrian negotiations in Geneva on Saturday, the Russain Foreign Mnistry said.
"During the conversation, the sides carried out a credible exchange of information on the development of the situation in Syria in light of the results of the international meeting on the Syrian settlement in Astana creating the favorable preconditions for establishing the inclusive process of the intra-Syrian negotiations under the aegis of the UN in Geneva," the ministry said on its website.
The sides also discussed several practical issues of the multilateral Russian-Syrian cooperation.
Bodganov received the ambassador at his request.
