Russian grain exports catch up with last year's pace
MOSCOW. Jan 30 (Interfax) - Russia's grain exports in the current agricultural year (July 2016-June 2017) caught up with last year's pace as of January 25, the Agriculture Ministry reported, citing operational data from the Federal Customs Service (FCS).
Russia exported 22.091 million tonnes of grain in the current farm year through January 25, 0.7% more than the 21.942 million tonnes exported in the same period a year earlier.
Wheat exports rose 4.5% to 17.215 million tonnes and corn exports were up 41% to 2.774 million tonnes.
Barley exports fell 41.1% to 1.953 million tonnes.
The Agriculture Ministry forecasts that grain exports in July 2016-June 2017 will total 35 million-37 million tonnes, up from 33.9 million tonnes in the previous agricultural year.
