Dep. PM expects number of residents at Free Port of Vladivostok to grow
VLADIVOSTOK. Jan 31 (Interfax) - The number of residents of the Free Port of Vladivostok has topped 160, which shows that there is a demand for it, Deputy Prime Minister Yury Trutnev, who is also the Russian president's envoy to the Far East Federal District, said.
"The total number of residents [of the Free Port of Vladivostok] has topped 160, and there are more applications that are being considered and clarified. We have exceeded all initial expectations for the number of residents. This seems like a good sign to me. It's convenient for people to work within the confines of the Free Port, this is already obvious," Trutnev told reporters in Vladivostok on Tuesday.
The number of residents of the Free Port of Vladivostok will grow in the near future, he said.
"I'm not ready to make some sort of forecasts, but we will certainly top the figure of 200 for Vladivostok in the very near future. The fact that 10-20 applications are already appearing for each of the other four territories that we created in line with the law indicates that this framework benefits the development of the Far East and Russia," Trutnev said.
