Nearly 70 members of online community engaged in militant recruitment detained in Russia last year - NAC
MOSCOW. Jan 31 (Interfax) - Nearly 70 members of online terrorist cells have been detained in 2016, National Anti-Terrorism Committee (NAC) spokesman Andrei Przhezdomsky told journalists.
"Sixty-nine members of the online community which is involved in the recruitment of militants and fund-raising to conduct terrorist activity were detained. Criminal inquiries were opened against the recruiters," Przhezdomsky said at a press conference on Tuesday.
Przhezdomsky went on to note that the online community had more than 100,000 members across the world. "Tactics are modified but we have learnt to adequately react to it," he said.
