Ukrainian army shells Donbas' Yasynuvata causing power outage - authorities
DONETSK/KYIV. Feb 1 (Interfax) - The vicinity of Yasynuvata came under attack of the Ukrainian army during the night, the city administration said.
"The attack on the vicinity of Yasynuvata has been on since last night. There is a power outage in the Donetsk Severnyi neighborhood. We are unable to restore power supply because of the ongoing shelling," a representative of the Yasynuvata district administration told the press.
In turn, the staff of the army operation in southeastern Ukraine reported the death of one serviceman and the injury of another 18 in attacks on Ukrainian army positions.
"In all, 86 shelling incidents have been observed. One of our servicemen was killed, nine were injured and another nine were traumatized," the staff said on Facebook.
In the Mariupol sector, 122mm artillery bombarded Vodyane, Pavlopil, Talakivka and Berdianske; 120mm mortars were used against Novohryhorivka, Krasnohorivka, Pavlopil, Talakivka, Novotroitske and Vodyane; small arms were fired in Shyrokyne and Novohryhorivka, sniper activity was observed in Chermalyk, and an infantry combat vehicle was engaged in Shyrokyne, the staff said.
In the Donetsk sector, about a hundred BN-21 Grad projectiles were fired on Ukrainian army positions near Avdiivka. In addition, 152mm artillery and tanks were engaged in the hostilities. Tonenke came under attack of 152mm artillery, 120mm mortars shelled Avdiivka, Luhanske, Troitske, Opytne and Verkhnotoretske, and a tank and an infantry combat vehicle were engaged in Verkhnotoretske, it said.
In the Luhansk sector, Ukrainian army positions came under attack of 152mm and 122mm artillery, 82mm mortars, various types of grenade launchers and small arms near Krymske, Troitske, Zhovte, Novooleksandrivka, Stanytsia Luhanska and Novozvanivka, the staff said.
