Russian Foreign Ministry considers claims of Russia's involvement in cyber attack on Czech ministry's email 'fantasy'
MOSCOW. Feb 1 (Interfax) - Moscow calls claims of a 'Russian trail' in hacker attacks at the email correspondence of the Czech Foreign Ministry a 'groundless fantasy.'
"By a well-established tradition, reporters don't bother with finding proof and are indulging in unrestricted, excited and absolutely groundless fantasies with abandon," a source within the Russian Foreign Ministry told reporters, commenting on articles in the Czech media alleging Russia's involvement in hacking of the emails of the Czech Foreign Ministry's leadership.
Apart from that, the source said that the Russian Foreign Ministry has taken a note of a statement made by Czech Foreign Minister Lubomir Zaoralek about a hacker attack on the email of the Czech Foreign Ministry's leadership.
"At the same time the minister [Zaoralek] hinted that 'some foreign state' is behind these actions. And it was pointed out that the actions of hackers are very similar to 'the nature of the attack on the Internet system of the Unites States' Democratic National Committee' so that the society would have no misunderstanding about this issue," the source said.
