By urging Moscow to influence militiamen NATO is turning blind eye on Kyiv's offensives - Russia's permanent mission to NATO
BRUSSELS. Feb 2 (Interfax-AVN) - The Russian permanent mission to NATO on Thursday responded to yesterday's calls by NATO chief Jens Stoltenberg on Moscow to influence the militiamen in order to end violence in Donbas.
"By calling on Russia to use its considerable influence over the separatists", NATO continues to ignore facts on the ground," the mission wrote on Twitter.
"What about calling on Kiev to stop its offensive operations in Donbas and abandon the idea of a military solution to the conflict?" it said.
"Donbas is on the verge of humanitarian disaster as a result of violations by Kiev of its obligations and imposed economic blockade," the mission said.
"NATO's "strong political and practical support" of Ukraine only encourages party of war in Kiev," the mission said.
A day earlier the NATO secretary general stated that NATO calls on Russia to use "its considerable influence on separatists" in order to end violence.
Stoltenberg also stressed that NATO will continue providing political and practical support for Ukraine.
