Kyiv's actions in Donbas could bring Normandy Four efforts to nothing - Lavrov
MOSCOW. Feb 3 (Interfax) - The efforts of the Normandy Four leaders risk ending in nothing because of Kyiv's latest actions in Donbas, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said in a telephone conversation with his French counterpart Jean-Marc Ayrault.
"It is unacceptable to pander to attempts by the Kyiv leadership to once again resort to doomed military adventures while at the same time re-draw in their favor the Minsk Package of Measures, which remains, against all odds, the only solution to the crisis. This risks bringing the two-year-old efforts of the Normandy Four heads of state to nothing," Lavrov said, according to a Foreign Ministry statement released on Friday.
Following the latest escalation in Donbas the ministers have agreed to continue efforts to secure a return to complying with agreements on a ceasefire and a swift approval of a roadmap for full implementation of the Minsk agreements.
Lavrov and Ayrault also discussed the schedule of bilateral communications.
