Zhirinovsky re-elected as LDPR chairman

MOSCOW. Feb 4 (Interfax) - Vladimir Zhirinovsky was re-elected as the chairman of the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia (LDPR) at the party's congress on Saturday.

Zhirinovsky is the chairman of LDPR since March 31, 1990.

The chairman of the party is elected for a period of four years without restriction on a number of terms.

In accordance with the charter of the party, the chairman of the party provides strategic leadership, serves as the main representative of the party and approves all major decisions.

Zhirinovsky is the leader of the LDPR faction in the State Duma.

LDPR's regular congress, the 30th one, is being held in Moscow on Saturday.
