Participants of Feb 6 technical meeting on Syria arrive in Astana

ASTANA. Feb 5 (Interfax) - Delegations from the countries participating in a technical meeting on Syria to be held in Astana on February 6 are arriving to the Kazakh capital, Kazakh Foreign Ministry spokesperson Anuar Zhainakov told Interfax on Sunday.

"Delegations from the states participating in the meeting are arriving," he said, declining to say representatives from which countries have already arrived.

It was reported that a joint task group was to meet in Astana on February 6 to discuss issues pertaining to the monitoring of a ceasefire established under an agreement reached on December 29, 2016.

Delegations from Russia, Turkey and Iran, as well as the United Nations are expected to attend, the Kazakh Foreign Ministry said.
