Heavy weapons remain in security zone in Donbas, military positions too close to each other - OSCE
Donetsk. Feb 6 (Interfax) - Heavy weapons still remain in the security zone of the conflict in eastern Ukraine, the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe's Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine (OSCE SMM) Principal Deputy Chief Monitor Alexander Hug said.
Heavy weapons still remain in the security zone, military positions are too close to each other, which means that the components for a new round of escalation are in place, Hug said at a press conference, adding that OSCE SMM monitors record new components daily.
It is necessary to pay attention to these components and remove them right now, he said.
Hug said that those who have power on both sides of the contact line need to make efforts to prevent a new round of escalation.
